Day 21 - Tucson to Wilcox

Charlie was a wonderful host and saw us off early in the morning.

Luckily we got to go on about 20 more miles of the Tucson Loop trail on our way to Wilcox including this bicycle trail clover leaf :-)

The Loop Trail even has lots of art along it...

And some educational stations.

And lots of cactus and some solar panels.

Upon leaving Tucson we had lots of climbing 3900 feet worth.

We started to encounter more cattle grates too. Best to be very careful when crossing these on a bike.

For lunch I asked a KFC to serve chicken to me in my bowl, but even though it was easy to just drop the pieces in, they insisted on putting it in a KFC box that I did not need :-(

Speaking of unnecessary trash, when you bike you see so much of it littering roadsides. Car drivers tend to ignore and/or not see most of it. To them the road looks clean as they zoom by. But bicyclists see the reality...

We did see lots more wildflowers!

We were very glad to reach Wilcox after our 85 mile and 3900 feet of climbing day. Luckily the winds were light, no significant head or tail winds.
