Day 58 - Circleville to Logan OH

Saturday April 20, Biked 40 miles. Total mileage by end of day: 3494.

Cool (40s) and cloudy all day. Luckily missed some rain late in the day.

Started the day with breakfast with Tyler, Brad, and Ryan.

Had a good sendoff in the morning. It was great visiting with family!

Random houses and scenery as I pedaled down the road.

It stayed cloudy all day.

SmartWater is interesting. Pretty smart marketing to sell water to people for a 1000 times more than what they can get from their tap. Pretty dumb people.

Entered Oakland OH.

Saw a 4-H sign so dropped in on someone else's family gathering to say "Hi!" and talked to Malinda. Her kids had done 4-H and now had nieces and nephews doing 4-H.

On the road again past many more farms.

And a graveyard.

Encountered the Johnson Covered Bridge over Clear Creek, a historic covered bridge and longest surviving one on public property.

Then proceeded next to Clear Creek on a windy road.

Lots of scenery, rock, and beautiful flowers as I made my way through the Clear Creek Metro park.

Leaving the park I entered Hocking Hills.

Later I found out that this road next to the railroad tracks was adjacent to Dave and Linda Klug's Among the Trees Lodge and Tree Houses.

Passed a group about to canoe down the Hocking River.

Also encountered a surprisingly smooth brick road.

Gravel mining barge.

More brick road.

Another canoe place.

Reached Logan OH.

At Kachelmacher park...

David and Caroline and family liked my turtle Olivia and had lots of questions. Many had bicycled quite a bit and all were very environmentally aware.

A short while later I reached our friends Theresa, Linda, Dave, and Nicky. What a warm and welcoming family! So great to see them again!
