Day 64 - Morgantown WV to Ohiopyle PA

Friday April 26, Biked 45 miles. Total mileage by end of day: 3778.

Cool and heavy rain all day. Then very windy and wet!

Nice trail to start the day however.

Rode past the Morgantown waste water plant.

Saw many more waterfalls!!!

The trail changed to crushed limestone. Still a nice surface to ride.

Another ancient abandoned Tardis along the way.

Ughh, a coal fired power plant.

Entered Pennsylvania and Sheepskin Trail.

Those 2 tiny joggers in the distance are Lizzie and Molly enjoying the trail during a pause in the rain.

Now on roads rather than trail. Point Marion had some nice artwork.

Raining steadily I passed many houses with verdant green lawns.

After lunch, I started up my big climb of the day -- 3 miles of 10% grade. At the top it was extremely windy and pouring. Luckily at the top the Summit Lodge had just opened (not pictured) and I was able to change into dry clothing and my rain jacket and rain pants for a wet and wild descent into Ohiopyle.

Finally arriving in Ohiopyle.

Here I am just arrived at the Falls Market Inn, wet but happy.

Had a great talk with Kathy from Pittsburg. She and her son have taken regular bike trips together for 30+ years.

The restaurant at Falls Market does not serve straws! Yay!!

They also have lots of food, ice cream, and sweet treats. They are packed during the summer months but not so much right now during early spring.
